Today (Friday), Kampala Parents' School committed 214 Primary Seven Candidates to God, ahead of next week's Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which begin on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
The prayers for the candidates were held on the school grounds in Naguru, Kampala, with a section of parents and well-wishers joining the children in the session, which was based on the pillars of life, spirituality, morality, and physical fitness, among other things.
The colorful event was conducted by Kampala Archbishop, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, who presided over the prayers, and Imam Idi Kasozi, representing the Muslim faith, as they anointed and dedicated the students to God in prayer for success in their examinations.
Ms. Daphne Kato, KPS Principal, urged the excited candidates to stay focused and avoid fear in order to fly the school flag high and succeed for their bright future.
"As you finish your seven years of primary school, I want you to know that the Kampala Parents' School family is there for you in every way." "Do not panic, even as you finalize your revisions," Mrs. Kato said.
"This is the time the Lord has chosen for you to demonstrate to your parents, relatives, and teachers that you have been adequately prepared by all concerned people." "Your future begins today; lay that solid foundation and keep the candle burning even as you advance in your education," she went on to say.
Mrs. Kato also extended deep gratitude to the school's Chairman of the Board, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, whose unwavering support she credited for the school's success in the PLE examinations throughout the years.
"I would also like to render my unmatched sincere appreciation to the Chairman, together with the school management and all the stakeholders, for their tireless contributions to what you (the candidates) are today," she went on to say.
The founder and head of the Kampala Parents' School Board, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia complimented the 2023 P.7 candidates for their arduous work in achieving their success and urged them to go for it (the success) in the PLE tests.
"To our dead candidates of 2023, I sincerely thank you for your dedication, resilience, and selflessness since the year began." Dr. Sudhir responded by saying, "It must have been a difficult journey to trek, but trust me, it is the reason you will succeed because rough waves produce experienced sailors."
"Success comes to those who seek him; you have this, and God will do the rest," he said, wishing the candidates well in the PLE Exams in 2023.
Kampala Parents' School, located on Saddler Way in Naguru (an urban area), is one of the top performing PLE schools this year, with 214 students ready to face national exams next week.
According to UNEB statistics, 749,347 candidates registered for this year's PLE Exams and are expected to take their finals at one of the country's 14,442 test centers.
