Sudhir Ruparelia, a billionaire from Uganda, owns the construction company VCON, which has been awarded a USD 9.1 million project. East of the nation's capital Kampala, in Mbale, Uganda, the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) will have a state-of-the-art Faculty of Engineering thanks to VCON.
The project was revealed last week, and according to the specifics, it would also include constructing the university's main structure. IUIU's principal, Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, represented the Ugandan Islamic-leaning university while Sudhir, the head of Ruparelia Group, represented VCON during the project signing.
IUIU received a loan of USD 9.1 million from the Islamic Development Bank for initiatives that are expected to be finished in 15 months. Following the signing, Prof. Gyagenda emphasized the project's late status and demanded that the contractor adhere to the predetermined timeline, set of requirements, and completion standards.
Gyagenda said, "This initiative is crucial because science and technology are the catalysts for progress in both our nation and the rest of the globe. Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia promised the university that the project will be finished on schedule and to the highest possible standards.
He said, "At the moment, our firm has 11 active construction projects, and they will be added with enough technical competence.
Project completion rates for VCon Construction are very high. The gorgeous Kingdom Kampala Mall, a sizable business structure costing millions of dollars, is one of them. Additionally, Tagore Living and Bukoto Living, two distinctive residential apartment businesses, were successfully created by VCON.
VCON Construction was founded with the sole purpose of building properties for the renowned Ruparelia Group's varied real estate and hospitality operations in order to establish itself as a significant player in the Ugandan construction market.
The company has shown extraordinary capability and expertise by managing the concurrent execution of more than 10 significant projects. This significant success confirms VCON's position as a leading player in the civil engineering industry and highlights the Ruparelia Group's commitment to improving the country's educational system.
As VCON launches this ground-breaking effort that will shape engineering education in Uganda and expand the university's academic offerings, all eyes are on them.
