Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia, a renowned motorsports driver, has showered admiration on the racing fans, drivers, organisers, and sponsors of the recently finished Kaliro Sugar Rally, claiming that the successful event has triggered the economic empowerment of the Busoga area.
Rajiv, who is also the Chairman of the Central Motor Club (CMC) Board of Trustees, made the statements at the conclusion of the two-day rally won by famous driver Ronald Sebuguzi, who made a surprise appearance after being out of the racing scene for a while.
"On behalf of Central Motor Club (CMC), I thank His Loyal Highness the King and the people of Busoga for their hospitality and sporting zeal." Because of your kindness, the Busoga Kingdom has a special place in CMC's heart. "We also appreciate your hospitality and talent contribution via the amazing drivers and rally officials," Rajiv said.
Rajiv reported that the rally benefited the economic standing of Jinja, particularly in terms of housing and food for the supporters and visitors invited, netting a record of full up all hotels in Jinja and servings by more than 50 food vendors in the vicinity.
"I would like to confess that as a consequence of this rally, we have filled all hotel rooms in Jinja, and over 50 different kinds of vendors have profited," Rajiv added before commending His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV-Isebantu Kyabazinga of Busoga and his people for their love of sports.
He thanked the sponsors and said that the event would not be possible without them. Kaliro Sugar, Speke Group of Hotels, Lato Milk, Galaxy FM, and Rock Boom were among the sponsors.
According to Rajiv, CMC is more dedicated than ever to bring native talent to the highest level of racing via partnership with the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU).
"Our objective is One Club, One Dream; let us keep this in mind till the next championship on December 26, 2022, at the Boxing Day rally." I am grateful for the group of friends who became family under the CMC banner. "This demonstrates what real friendship and dedication can become when given a goal," Rajiv said.
